Frazier, James Abner, departed this life 7 October 1944, being at the time of his death 79 years 5 months and 17 days. He was born in Scott County, Virginia, 2 March 1865.  He was first married to Lucy Johnson 26 October 1887, she passed away in March 1932. To this union was born four sons and two daughters. One son died at the age of fourteen. He was later married to Elizabeth Sutherlin, 29 March 1933. Besides the widow he leaves sons, George, Melvin and Clyde; two daughters, Mrs. Ernestine Parker and Alice Morphew; eight grandchildren; the great grandchildren, all living in this community. Two brothers, Jefferson Frazier of Virginia and McDaniel Moody of Ladoga; a sister Mrs. Margaret Johnson of Virginia, a step son, Warren Steele and a step daughter, Edith McBroom, both of Indianapolis. Also many friends, accumulated over a period of many years.  Funeral services were held at Chastains Funeral Home Monday October 9. Burial at the Lebanon (Roachdale) Cemetery. - mw
